Basic skills

The role of the Basic skills volunteer is to assist both young people and adult learners with their specific literacy and numeracy needs. Volunteers receive induction to their role and subsequently work alongside trained tutors in one-to-one or group settings. 

Potential volunteers interested in this opportunity are requested to have an English/Maths GCSE, or be willing to work towards a qualification in this area. In order to assist volunteers with carrying out their role they are buddied with an exisiting volunteer for support.
