I don't get into trouble anymore; I've had my taste of prison. The people from Rainer were the only ones who came to see me.

Just Giving

Whether you are organising a fundraising event, taking part in a challenge or want to become a 500 Futures Team member, Justgiving is a quick and hassle free way to collect fundraising money. All you need to do is create a fundraising page online, then simply email the link to the page to your friends and family who can sponsor you online. The site is 100% secure, and automatically collects Gift Aid on donations.

You can also use Just Giving to fundraise for a wide range of activities including:

  • Celebrating your wedding, in replacement of wedding gifts
  • Birthday gifts to Rainer
  • Celebrating an anniversary

To set up your page go to www.justgiving.com/rainer/raisemoney  h2zyji55qcirfczvuhcm1pqn10102007113008.jpg

Here are some simple ways you can maximise the money you raise for Rainer through Just Giving:

  • Personalise your page when you set it up with pictures and the reason you have chosen Rainer.
  • People tend to match the amounts already listed on the page, so do target your most generous supporters first!
  • Tell everyone you know
  • Encourage them all to pass on the message to anyone else who might support your chosen charity. Also think of those people living in different parts of the UK or abroad.
  • Be persistent, it takes more than one round of emails to reach your target. Encourage people to re-visit your page by regularly updating it and sending to people at least 3 times.. You know what it's like - people mean to donate, but sometimes they don't quite get round to it on the first request.
  • Change your email signature at work and/or at home, add a line at the bottom including the address of your web page.
  • Let your supporters know what their donation will buy for your chosen charity. For example £30 for Rainer would provide a starter pack for a young care leaver with the essentials to move to a new home.
  • Keep fundraising after your event, 20 per cent of all donations through Justgiving come in after people have completed their fundraising event.
